Happy Anniversary!

Well, it is official. We are one year-old, and boy what a year it has been! We have added more stations, members, and everything in between. We thank our supporters and hope we have won over our critics. We have jump started cultural and lifestyle changes in San Antonio where it is encouraged of all citizens to live their best life. Health and wellness for locals is more than just an idea now, but actually a practice put in motion. San Antonio has made some incredible strides from being one of the most obese cities to one of the fittest with our new-found efforts to transform the city. We are proud to be part of this "revolution" and can't wait to embark on another year and see what else we can ignite. Again, we thank you for your patience, support, and encouragement and look forward to continuing to pedal it forward with you all!

Can't wait to celebrate tonight! See you at the hub. Bike parking available, of course.

B-cycle over your own Bike

Many people have asked the rather obvious question of why to b-cycle when they already own a bike? It is a fair question, one that we have thought about,
  • Save wear and tear on your personal equipment.
  • You don't have to struggle with the ongoing battle of finding bike parking - and your bike being "towed" if you park illegally.
  • You don't have to carry a mammoth bike lock to keep my bike from getting stolen - how many "safe" places are there?
  • Basket is attached to store your goods.
  • Save the effort of transporting your bike around in or on your car and just grab one quickly and easily from one of the stations.
  • Don't have to bike "both ways" (if you get somewhere it is pouring down rain... catch a ride with someone, take the bus, etc. ).
  • According to StreetsBlog.org: " People riding shared public bicycles appear to be involved in fewer traffic crashes and receive fewer injuries than people riding their personal bicycles. In cities from Paris and London to Washington, D.C. and Mexico City, something about riding a shared bicycle appears to make cycling safer."
  • LAST, but NOT LEAST.... IT IS WAY COOLER!
Thoughts? Anything we missed?
